Take the lead in the World

Take the Lead in the World

“Take the Lead in the World” – A Call to Leadership by  Bharathiyar.

These simple words carry a powerful message: “Take the lead in the world.” Bharathiyar did not merely ask us to dream of greatness.

He urged us to develop the courage, knowledge, discipline and determination needed to lead.

Leadership is not about standing above others. It is about standing up for what is right, taking responsibility, inspiring others and creating a better future.

As John C. Maxwell rightly said,

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”

A true leader does not simply give instructions. A true leader walks ahead through action and inspires others to follow.

Leadership Begins with Self-Confidence:

Bharathiyar believed that fear was one of the greatest barriers to human progress. His writings repeatedly awaken courage and self-confidence in the individual.

A person who does not believe in himself cannot inspire others. Therefore, the first step towards leadership is to discover our own abilities and have faith in them.

Knowledge Is the Foundation of Leadership:

The world belongs not merely to the powerful, but to those who learn, think and create.

Bharathiyar envisioned an educated and enlightened society. For him, education was not simply a means of earning a living; it was a path towards freedom and progress.

Nelson Mandela expressed this truth beautifully:

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

A leader must therefore remain a lifelong learner. The world changes every day, and a person who stops learning gradually stops growing.

Leadership Means Responsibility:

To  take the lead  does not mean seeking fame or authority. It means accepting responsibility when others hesitate.

Mahatma Gandhi’s words remind us:

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

Great changes often begin with one person taking the first step.

Leadership with Compassion:

True leadership cannot exist without humanity.

A leader may possess knowledge, wealth and power, but without compassion, leadership becomes empty.

Bharathiyar dreamed of a society where people lived with equality, dignity and mutual respect. His vision of leadership was therefore not merely personal success but collective progress.

As Martin Luther King Jr. said,

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”

The greatest leader is not the one who has the most followers, but the one who helps others discover their own strength.

Young People and the Future:

The youth are not merely the leaders of tomorrow. They are contributors to the world of today.

Every student who learns sincerely, every teacher who inspires a child, every citizen who performs a duty honestly and every individual who stands against injustice contributes to the progress of society.Bharathiyar’s

Take the Lead in the World

can therefore be understood as a call to every generation:

Dream boldly.Learn continuously.

Act courageously.Serve humanity.

Lead responsibly.

Cultivate leadership qualities from the bottom up. It will make you behave in a disciplined manner. It will make you create a good society. It will make those around you behave responsibly. It will elevate you. It will also lead those around you to rise. That is why

Bharathi is telling you and me to take the lead

in the right way.

"Take the Lead in the World"

 is a philosophy of life.

Bharathiyar wanted human beings to rise above fear, ignorance and weakness and become confident creators of a better world.

Leadership begins not with a position, but with a purpose.

It begins not with power, but with responsibility.

It begins not with commanding others, but with mastering oneself.

Let us therefore hear Bharathiyar’s call, awaken the strength within us, and strive not merely to live in the world, but to make the world a better place through our knowledge, courage and service.

Let us lead, inspire and illuminate the world.
