     தேறற்க யாரையும்.....

"தேறற்க யாரையும் தேராது தேர்ந்தபின்

தேறுக தேறும் பொருள்  "

தேறற்க _ தேர்ந்தெடுக்க

யாரையும் _ எவரையும்

தேராது _ ஆராயாது

தேர்ந்தபின் _ தேர்ந்தெடுத்த பின்னர்

தேறுக _  தேர்ந்தெடுப்பீராக

 தேறும் _ செய்யத்தக்க 

பொருள் _ செயல்

யாரையும் ஆராயாமல் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கக் கூடாது.

நன்றாக ஆராய்ந்த பிறகு அவரிடம் உள்ள

அறிவைத் தேர்ந்த  பின்னர் அதனை

சந்தேகிக்கக் கூடாது. 

English couplet :

"Trust no man whom you have not fully tried, when tested

In his prudence proved confide."

Explanation. :

Let a king choose no one without previous consideration ;

After he has made his choice, let him unhesitatingly

Select for each such duties as are appropriate.

Transliteration :

"Therarka Yaaraiyum Theraadhu Therndhapin

Therika Therum porul "
